El Salvador SHG - Coffee Beans
A complex aroma of full cocoa bean aroma, soft acidity and a delicate body with a nutty aftertaste. The coffee is grown on several farms in western El Salvador, located in the departments of Santa Ana, Ahuachapán and Sonsonate, near the Santa Ana volcano in the Ilamatepec mountain range. This volcanic soil provides ideal conditions for this coffee to flourish. The “Café de El Salvador” logo represents the coffee culture of El Salvador, a country that has been growing coffee for over 200 years and is known for its extensive knowledge.
Coffee growing in El Salvador has a long tradition, taking place on volcanic soils at higher altitudes, which gives the coffee a balanced sweetness, gentle acidity and fruity, chocolate or nutty notes. El Salvador may be small in size, but with even bigger ambitions. A country full of enthusiastic farmers who do not hesitate to try every new thing, thanks to its tenacity and passion, the country has become one of the driving forces of fine coffee. Thanks to historical circumstances, it has preserved a large proportion of the quality Bourbon variety, supplemented by unique local cultivars. The combination of different processing methods during a single harvest produces coffee with a diverse flavor profile - from sweet citrus and cherries to delicate honey to chocolate and marzipan.
