BRAZIL YELLOW BOURBON – Coffee beans

Yellow Bourbon is a 100% Arabica variety known for its distinct natural sweetness. When combined with the natural processing method, the result is a coffee with minimal acidity and a velvety-smooth body. Notes of chocolate dominate both the flavor and aroma, complemented by hints of hazelnut and honey. This coffee originates from the Sul/Sudoeste de Minas region in the state of Minas Gerais, where it is cultivated and harvested between June and September at altitudes of 1,000–1,200 meters above sea level.

Almost everyone in this fertile region grows coffee. Consequently, numerous cooperatives operate here, providing members with access to healthcare support, scholarships, and further agricultural education. These projects place great emphasis on sustainable farming and measures to reduce the environmental impact of coffee cultivation. Eco-friendly practices include, for instance, collecting water from processing mills and utilizing special technology to repurpose it during wastewater treatment. For most residents, the coffee plant is their primary source of income, so local farmers tend to their crops with great care and passion.

This coffee is processed using the "natural" (or dry) method—the oldest processing technique of all. After harvesting, the coffee cherries are spread in a thin layer to sun-dry, requiring regular turning; once dry, the beans are mechanically separated from the pulp and skin. When executed correctly and responsibly, this process yields a coffee with a "fuller body" and a fascinating flavor profile featuring fruity undertones. 100% Arabica.
