KOSTARIKA - Hacienda San Isidro - Coffee beans 250g
RIPE CHERRIES, CHOCOLATE
COSTA RICA TARAZZÚ - Finca San Isidro - Coffee Beans
This coffee is dominated by strong and full-bodied flavors, especially chocolate and ripe cherries. After harvesting, the beans are fermented in closed tanks and dried on terraces for 15 to 20 days. Finca San Isidro Typica Anaerobic is grown in the Tarrazú district of Costa Rica by father and son, Johel and Mathias Monge, at an altitude of 1,765 meters above sea level. More than 100 years ago, Johel's father - Mathias' grandfather - moved from the suburbs of San José to Tarrazú with the intention of making the most of the region's then-burgeoning coffee industry. He started out simply picking coffee, but eventually was able to afford to buy his own farm. This farm was then inherited by Johel, who decided to sell it in favor of purchasing new land in the less developed and higher Dota area of Tarraz. This land, purchased in the 1980s, became what we know today as Hacienda San Isidro Labrador, located just a few steps north of the village of Santa Maria de Dota. Initially, Johel only grew catuai and Costa Rican 95, but with the explosion of Panamanian geisha in the early 2010s, he decided to focus primarily on growing his own geisha. In 2012, Johel and his son Mathias planted thousands of geisha and typic trees, as well as a few select plots of bourbon trees that contributed to this volume. Today, HSIL is a multiple Cup of Excellence award winner, widely known for its attention to quality and purity of profile.
